ABOUT US:

The Mackinac Racing Team is based out of the Lansing, MI area with a satellite office in St.Ignace, the "Gateway to the U.P." MRT is a diehard Arctic Cat team. MRT originated in 2001, after Kyle and Hunter began racing snocross on the MSXRA circuit in Michigan.

**Ten time winner, and cover boy for the Michigan Tourist Monthly magazine, 11 year-old Hunter McPhee, raced for five seasons, competing in the stock 120 class.

**9 year-old Dylan McPhee has yet to make his snocross racing debut, however, he is considering jumping up to the 370 class in a couple years.

**Kyle (Dad), had to retire in 2002, after a short racing career, due to serious shoulder and neck injuries.  Kyle now has a titanium plate in his neck holding his vertabrae together. It appears Kyle's younger days of football, weightlifting, and hard riding have caught up to him.  Kyle now enjoys long leisurely (right!) rides on his 2002 ZR800 Cross Country Edition across the Eastern U.P.

**Tedy Jo (Mom), likes to ride her ZL440 too, but she mostly just keeps a watchful eye on us speed demons and keeps us fed while on the trail.

February 2008 Update: 

The MRT has stepped away from the race track for awhile, however, we are still getting in some great riding in the Straits area.

SIGNIFICANCE OF OUR RACING NUMBER 383:

Kyle & Hunter both raced with #383 on their sleds.  383 is dedicated to Kyle's old partner and best friend, Michigan State Trooper, Bryon Egelski, who was killed in the line of duty on July 11th, 1994.  Tpr. Egelski was the 45th Michigan State Trooper to die in the line of duty.  383 was Bryon's badge number then, and is Kyle's badge number now.  See Bryon's tribute here.
